Parish Lay Ministry is a program of the NT-NL Mission Area for the purpose of providing trained lay leadership to a congregation or other ministry on this territory.
Those persons who are interested in the program and who demonstrate spiritual maturity and leadership skills can be nominated by congregations, pastors, mission staff or by the individuals themselves. Nominees will be contacted, asked to submit an application, provide endorsement by their pastor and congregation, and complete the required courses satisfactorily.
This is a two-year course of study which includes courses in Bible, Theology and Ministry. Specific studies include the

The Parish Lay Ministry Academy has graduated over 100 people who now serve in their home congregations
