You are invited to join other NT-NL Youth Groups going to Detroit this summer for the ELCA Youth Gathering.

The theme for this year’s Gathering is the entire book of Mark. This STORYBOOK BEGINNING event will include a presentation of the story of Jesus in Mark by TLU professor Dr. Phil Ruge-Jones, who is a Markan scholar and storyteller. Dr. Ruge-Jones will present a live performance of the book of Mark for our group.

We will also have games, conversations, and dinner together so our young people from the NT-NL Mission Area can meet each other as we all prepare for this Journey To Detroit! In addition, there will be an opportunity for adult leaders to collaborate and share. This event has been paid for by several gifts and all we ask is $5 per person for dinner if you are able.

Many of you may be traveling from out of town and we have several local churches and host families that would love to gift you with housing for this weekend if you would like to make it a weekend event for your kids. DFW is a great place to do teambuilding with your group—museums, Texas Rangers baseball games, Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor, the Fort Worth Stockyards, and much more.
